Who we are
Have You Fed The Dog? ("the app", "we") is a family chore tracker. This policy explains what information the app stores and why. If anything is unclear, email [email protected].
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, display name, and the avatar you pick. Used to sign you in and show who did what.
- Household data — the household's name, picture, member list, and timezone, so chores happen on your family's clock.
- Chores and completions — the chores you set up and a record of who completed each one, when, and how (button or NFC tap). This powers streaks, the leaderboard, and awards.
- A push notification token — a device identifier issued by Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging, so we can tell your household when a chore is done or overdue.
That's everything. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell or share your data for marketing.
How it's used
Solely to run the service: signing you in, syncing chores across your household, and sending push notifications and password-reset emails. Your data is visible only to members of your own household.
Services we rely on
- Hetzner — our server is hosted in the EU.
- Cloudflare — DNS, proxying, and encrypted backups (Cloudflare R2).
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications to your device.
- Resend — sends transactional email (password resets) only. No marketing email, ever.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app (Edit Profile → the bin icon). When your account is deleted, your account details, household memberships, and push token are removed from the live database; chores you completed stay in your household's history with your name removed, so nothing links them to you. Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before those backups are rotated out. See how to delete your account.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — email [email protected] from the address on your account.
Children
The app is designed for families, but accounts should be created and managed by a parent or guardian. It is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
